WELCOME TO THE VIGILANTES!
This group is somewhat unique to OotARP, and therefore begs explanation. This is a group of (arguably) "good guys" that were in opposition to the Ministry's tactics of rounding up the Death Eaters after the war. They felt the Ministry's lax measures allowed many guilty parties to walk free. It is because of them that so many were either punished harshly (and often traumatically), finally locked up by the Ministry, or found dead. Some feel they cross the line between good and evil, but they know their cause is just and those that were responsible for so many atrocities need to pay for their crimes.
Not much is know about them in the outside world because most try to stay out of their way because rumors have spread that those who take action to oppose them (be they purists or non) wind up worse for wear. It is speculated that they have agents in Hogwarts, weeding out future threats that have been indoctrinated by parents or former Death Eaters, so they'll take those under age as well--anything to further the cause. It is known that they do have a central seat of power, but it unknown who that currently is.
You might be asking yourself why we need a thread here, right? Why else? To show support for the Vigilantes and plan out fun stuff to do. I can't come up with all the ideas and I know our members will get bored quickly, so we can put our heads together, bond outside the RPs, and generally hang out. People who aren't RP members of that club can also join in here to offer to battle with us, annoy our members, come up with ideas, etc.
This will also be where all Vigilante-related updates will be so keep checking back regularly. I'll post when sub-plots are going on (as well as a synopsis of them for those that didn't wish to/couldn't join in), when I've posted a new OotP meeting thread, etc.
Rules:
1. You do not have to disclose your RP character's name.
2. You do not have to support the Vigilantes to post here, but DO NOT flame us for our RP preferences.
3. You are not allowed to make fun of my GSA-like rules
4. You can discuss Vigilante sub-plots here, but please be respectful if people don't choose to discolse their character's deepest secrets simply because you ask. They might want some surprises in the future.
5. Do not put down people for their RPing abilities or choices.
6. Follow all OotARP rules. Duh!
7. Stay on topic, please. We'll get in trouble if you don't!
8. You are required, by accepting membership into this group, to post AT LEAST once every two weeks. If you fail to do this, and provide no notice of taking a break, you will be removed from the membership list.
9. If you have a plot point you'd like to introduce to the club that will affect numerous characters/RPers, please PM me first and let me know in addition to PMing the other RPers (if you know who they are) BEFORE starting said plot idea. It's just common RP courtesy to keep us updated on what might affect our characters, the club, and/or plots we already have going on. If you are unsure about whether or not your idea will affect others, please PM me first and ask.
Please note: I would appreciate it if no one posted in orange here. We'll be posting updates for the Vigilantes in that color and it will make it easier to notice on a page if no one else posts in that color. Thanks!

If you'd like to join the RP club (when applications are open), you should either PM me, post in an OOC in the thread, or post here with the words "VIGILANTE APPLICATION"

-your character's name
-character's age
-character's REAL blood status
-anything else that's pertinent
-a sample of your character from at least one RP you've done here. Just link it for us.
-a link to your character's bio page.
IC Questions:
-What could you contribute to the Vigilante?
-Do you have any special skills/talents?
-Give a brief family history.
-Do you associate with any Dark witches or wizards that we should be aware of?
-Anything else you wish to share?
Then, wait for a response before posting in the current RP thread. You can post here all you want in the mean time. If your charrie is sketchy, more questions will follow (just heads up).
Please note that if you are accepted as a seeker, you must still pass initiation and it is not an indication that you will become a full member of the group.
