David loved tinkering with things throughout his childhood. Often he would disassemble ballpoint pens and put them back together. While tinkering at the age of 9, he showed an aility to use magic. His parents weren't sure to believe him or dismiss it as a trick. He was proved right when he got his letter inviting him to Hogwarts. There he was sorted into Ravenclaw. He went through the years at Hogwarts with average grades because he was often distracted by his tinkering. After Hogwarts he managed to get a job and an apprenticeship at a small shop in Hogsmeade that worked with defensive charms. After that he managed to get a job with the Committee of Experimental Charms.
