Biography:
Luke David Smith was born to Ever and Simon Smith Both magical, but his Da is a Muggle born. He had an average child hood He learned how to ride a broom at a very young age, and grew quite good by the age of ten years old. Everything about his child hood was average.
Luke got his Hogwarts letter at age 11, and was thrown into school where he was sorted into Hufflepuff. He worked hard and got fairly good grades in most every subject. He managed a passing grade in History of Magic by pure force of will. It wasn’t until his second year that he realized that he had a stubborn streak the size of the English Channel. He is Loyal to a fault, and had such a caring personality that his is friends with most of the people in his year. Threw his years at school he continued to work hard and managed to get onto the Quidditch team in his third year as a keeper. It was the only good thing that happened to him that year in school. That was the year that all things changed for Luke.
As Dark Wizards rose to power in the ministry His father went into hiding. As a Muggleborn His father was a walking target for the likes of Umbrage who he had opposed when she was teaching Defense Against the Dark arts. So he at the urging on his wife left his family and moved out of country. Luke went to school, and tried hard to act like normal, but he was given a difficult time by the Carrows as well as all Slytherin's. He threw himself into his school work, but three months into school he got a letter from his mum saying that his Dad had been found and had “resisted arrest” and had been killed on the spot.
Luke’s world came to a crashing halt. He stopped eating, quit practicing Quidditch, refused to do homework of any kind and got detention after detention. He was one of the first to join Neville in the Room of Requirements when he finally couldn’t stand to live in the Castle any more. When it came time to Battle for Hogwarts, he sneaked back into the school with Collin Creevey and a few others. Being very young and not knowing a lot of Magic he was knocked out cold in the first hour of the battle only to be discovered much later in the hunt for survivors.
When he reached home he was grounded for the entire summer and started his healing process. He came back in his fourth year mostly back to the way he was before, but there was still something off about him, as if a large part of him had been cut away and nothing had come to fill the hole.
He was quieter, and lost quite a few of his friends. He focused on his studies and tried harder than before as if he was trying not to think about his father, or the war. When the year was over he met his mum at the train station. He was expecting to have a nice quiet summer all alone with his mum, but when he got home there was a slight problem with those plans. There was a man there along with his four children. His mum had a boyfriend and they were getting married at the end of the summer.
In an instant he went from an only child to second eldest of five. His mum sold the house where he had grown up and purchased a larger place on the other side of town where he had to share his bedroom with an older step brother Henry, who snored and listened to loud music and often pushed Luke around saying that he had to give a little in order for things to work out in the new family.
Needless to say he spent most of the summer outside away from all the noise of having siblings, and the bullying step brother. He couldn’t wait to go back to school, and when fall came he was more than happy to act like his step siblings didn’t exist. Until He found his sister Lonnie a third year crying in the hall way. Six Slytherin boys had cornered her and bullied her. Pulling her hair, trashing her books, ripping up her completed assignments, stole her quills, ink, and the small amount of pocket money she had been given to spend on her first Hogsmeade trip.
Luke and been Furious and when he found out who had done it he personally found each of them on their own and taught them a lesson they wouldn’t soon forget. It wasn’t long before Luke was designated the protector of his step siblings Edmond, a first year, Lonnie, a third year, and Veronica, a fourth year. The only one that didn’t want his help was Henry, a seventh year who felt that Luke had taken over his job as an older brother and protector even though he had never wanted it in the first place.
