Biography: He was born to two magical parents who died shortly after he was born in the first wizarding war. They'd been attempting to stop the murders of their muggle neighbors for Death Eater sport, but they failed. When the Ministry arrived to inspect the site and clean up magical evidence, they found a toddler in their abandoned home and took him to a muggle orphanage where he lived until receiving his Hogwarts letter.
He loved Hogwarts so much that he asked to stay over holidays, like another memorable orphan. His request was denied since the war had ended two years previously, so he reluctantly returned to the "home" he'd known since he was a year old where he was viewed as a freak, especially with all his "weird" books and an owl in tow.
He greatly enjoyed the time he got to spend in the castle. It was when he felt normal, and could connect with his parents for the first time that he could remember. He was also very skilled in many areas. He was top of his class in Arithmancy and Astronomy and came in second in Transfiguration and Charms. He was also well known for his skills in Potions.
After graduating, he joined the Wizarding Examinations Authority because he couldn't decide on an area to apply to teach, plus the openings were limited. He wanted to help future students in their educational experience, and it meant he could return regularly to the one place he'd loved above all.
His personal life isn't much of a story. He's built walls because he's greatly afraid of abandonment, and he hasn't dated much because of them. He's had his crushes (of both sexes) over the years, but his other fear of rejection has kept him from acting on them. He's also somewhat afraid that his bisexual leanings will disgrace his parents, something that is a major factor for him in all he does.
