Should you be able to brave the dank, dark, labyrinthine passages known to be the dungeons of Hogwarts castle, you might happen upon the Slytherin common room. Only those familiar with the entrance would know it from the other stretches of stone corridors. If you know how to locate it and know that the password has been changed to "Venom", you will be permitted entrance through the seemingly mundane wall.
As it opens, your eyes will meet the dim, low, stone room that seems to have a greenish tint to it. Lit by low-hanging, green lamps and a large, ornate fireplace, the room seems almost cold, somehow, especially in comparison to the welcoming feeling of the Great Hall and other parts of the castle. Green armchairs and sofas litter the room as well as small tables for doing homework or playing a nice game of Exploding Snap.
Across from the entrance, two doors lead to the dormitories, the girls' on the left and the boys' on the right.
So far, the only rule specific to the common rooms is that only those in that house may enter, as is laid out by the canon.
