Who Saw This Coming?

Hey everyone,

I'm sure a lot of you knew this was coming at least a month ago if not more. Brae and I just wanted to make an official announcement, though. With Brae working 6 days a week and without a computer at the present moment and my returning to school and work while trying to find an internship, we are unable to put the time and energy into this site that it needs, especially as it's still in its baby stage and needs mods that can actively find new members. Maybe when things settle down and we are both able to devote a few more hours to RP than we can now, we will breathe life into the site once more, but there is no certain date for that. If and when it comes, we will send out an email to anyone who remains a member here, hoping you will return.

In the mean time, I hope to keep up my vlog and perhaps, if time permits, do a bit of fan fiction about PC (yes, the fic I started a while back might be finished one day). So, any yearning for PC might be remedied by those.

It really is hard for us to do this, I've been plagued recently by dreams where Tavis, Mehren, and Mairead track me down, after escaping from my computer, for abandoning them. So, I hope this absence will not be horribly long, and I hope to see you all in a bit. Feel free to post here, for those that remain, if you wish. While I can't promise that Brae and I will be RPing much, you might still wish to RP here with your fellow members.

Character Updates

Okay, it's looking like no one else is going to give us updates on their characters, so brae and I have decided that we will continue RP from where we left off. Since it was the beginning of the year, it will be easier to bring in the new characters and RPers that we have and will attract. Because that means our timeline no longer follows the RL timeline, we will provide updates on the dates in the RP regularly.

Right now, any new threads should be dated Friday, September 1st-Thursday, September 7th, 2000. We're not super strict about it or anything, it's just something to keep in mind for weather, goings on in and out of Hogwarts, etc.

Select your Character/Avatar!

Your less than code-savvy mods have found a particular code that will allow you to use your RP characters' names as your display name when you post on any RP board. (We're very proud of ourselves too!)

In addition, you can select an avatar from the drop-down menu. Right now, we only have the four house shields and a blank avatar (supposedly for adults). In time, we may add avatars for the Order and Hydra/PC as well as a possible Vigilante avatar (once we figure out a bit more about that group, like a symbol). If anyone has any suggestions for avatars, please post here as well.

Now, I'm sure you're all wondering "Can't I use my own avatar with my playby for my RP charrie?". Well, the answer is YES! However, this needs to be added into code and is somewhat complicated. So, it's being treated as a reward right now. If you win RPer of the month (nominations for November will start soon, so get RPing!), if you refer a friend to OotARP and inform the mods, or if you advertise OotARP on another site (legally), you will be able to choose one RP character and one avatar for that character to be added to code for your use whenever you use them (in addition to gaining points to the house of your choice)! It should also be noted (as there is a staff position open at the moment) that by joining staff, you will have avatars for all your characters added to code, if you wish.

Avatars might be used as prizes for other things as well!
